When I started writing Desert and Sea, I was committed to narrating the story while being cautious about perception, which opened the doorway to the whisper of doubt and discouragement. There were times I wanted to stop because the emotions were fresher than their age; in fact, I spoke about it with some.  The journey is filled with doubt, but it is helped along by encouragement: you choose the path/s.

Truth is, life gives us an open plain to journey, and in some cases a desert, but the thing I learned in the desert is you’re free to choose the direction your heart hears the voice of the Poet, no matter how long you wander you will arrive.

Haiku version (because I’m a poet)

Whisper of doubt rise,  

In deserts, hearts find their path,  

Poet’s voice speaks truth.
