Well one of the guys, actually the only guy in the conversation who also writes poetry, brought up a point regarding slavery that i don’t think I thought about and that was that black men knowing they would be taken from their families detached themselves to their wifes to a degree, probably why black men don’t feel as beholding… in addition to physically fleeing they did so emotionally as well, that has to pretty hard to return from after generations…an obvious impairment to unity.
